It is a gray stone with chunks of other rocks in its composition. The name "ceppo" in the Milanese dialect means "stone with pebbles" and originated the Ceppo di Gré.

Known as the rock of Lombard architecture, the blocks were brought to town across the river Adda to the Naviglio in Milan to supply the great works of the city. Elegance and personality cover the surfaces of Pietra Lombarda, which was interpreted in three natural tones.

It's amazing how nature made large multi-shade pebbles to *CREATE* the Pietra Lombarda, a unique material that combines sobriety with a bold and a contemporary spirit, a material that strongly expresses Milanese aesthetics.
